Take a day off of work and head down to Florida to dive the Blue Heron Bridge for a quick weekend getaway. Get on the early flight to West Palm and you’ll be in the water diving Friday afternoon. The trip offers 2 shore dives and 2 boat dives in fun-filled weekend.
The Blue Heron Bridge is a shallow shore dive site that you can only dive at “slack high tide” (45 minutes before and after high tide). It is a scavenger hunt of small critters and our favorite macro site in North America. Dives at the bridge usually average 90 minutes. It is common to see Seahorses,Octopus, Batfish, Frogfish, Nudibranchs, etc.
Boat dives off of West Palm are generally drift dives with average depths 50-90 feet. There are cool wrecks to explore and usually a chance to see Goliath Grouper or Loggerhead Turtles. Nitrox is preferred for longer bottom times.
$299 per person.
2 Blue Heron Bridge Dives, 2-tank morning boat dives, air fills and weights.
Accommodations, food, flight, rental car.
There are several hotels in the area, and I can help you plan. We rented a house for a place to hang out before and after diving.
Get your Advanced Open Water or Nitrox certifications over the weekend.
