This is an extreme scuba diving experience for AdvanceLevel certified divers who want to experience one of the most thrilling dives in the world. This trip will not only introduces adventure seeking divers to wild sharks but also gives them a closer look at these magnificent and mysterious creatures.
The bull shark is quite a large shark that can thrive in both freshwater and saltwater bodies of water. The species is mainly found along coasts and within rivers all over the world, so it is no wonder that bull sharks choose the cenote-fed waters of Playa del Carmen on the eastern coast of Mexico as their breeding ground! It is an incredible feeling. The first encounter under water with these animals is superlative...outstanding, breathtaking and fantastic.
Our morning dives are 45 minute drift dives to an sandy bottom area at a depth of 60 ft. close to the area where the bull sharks gather. We do not use any type of bait or attraction on this dive, you will see sharks in their natural environment and you will have the opportunity to take pictures and be close to the sharks. Our second dive in the morning will be a reef drift dive.
Our afternoon dive we will dive with the bull sharks at 80 ft. This is a static dive where you will have to stay in your assigned place. Bull sharks are very large sharks, they are not shy and do make passes close by the divers. This is a normal behaviour for them, but if you're not ready for it, it will be an adrenaline rush. We do use fish to bring the sharks in close, which sometimes causes the sharks to get excited. Their position in the food chain is vital for the health of the ecosystem. The more we learn about these animals the more we can enjoy and care for them.
