Yoga And Scuba Diving

Did you know there are now yoga classes offered at Aquatic Dreams Scuba Center?

One of the many benefits of yoga is CORE STRENGTH AND MUSCLE ENDURANCE.

We all know that both of these are required for scuba diving.  While we can achieve these by any type of simple scheduled workout plan (we just have to actually do it) yoga also has many other benefits related to scuba diving.

  1. FULL BODY STRENGTH;  Yoga works ALL of the muscles, not just legs, arms or abs on a scheduled day, therefore promoting better overall strength.
  2. SELF PRESERVATION & SELF SUFFICIENCY;  Enhances balance and flexibility which will not only prevent injuries, but will allow you to get your gear and fins on quicker and easier to impress all your dive buddies.
  3. SELF CONTROL; Better control in a weightless environments like, you guessed it, WATER!
  4. GREATER AWARENESS;  Connects mind to body instead of separating them, like we may do at the gym.  When you ignore your workout, your body can go into "auto-pilot". Yoga encourages mind and body to work as one ant therefore creating the ability to actually process things better in you environment.  This will not only help you see more of the exciting things in the underwater world, but will also help you identify hazards more quickly and be able to avoid them.

Classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursday evenings, 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. (NO CLASS the first Tuesday of the month)

Cost is $10 for a drop in visit or $40 for the month (which in most cases is at least 7 sessions)

Come join me for some stretching, strengthening and tranqulity.  All levels and abilities are welcome!
